Understanding the Doctrine

 All Islamic doctrine is based on three books. The course is designed to provide a working knowledge of these text in a concise easy to understand format.

If this is your first course on Islam you will walk away with a firm understanding of the basic doctrine. This class with enable you to feel comfortable discussing Islam with anyone. The course will provide a reference system that will allow you to verity facts in a discussion.

If you have taken other courses on Islam this class will round out your knowledge and fill in the gaps. It is designed for all levels of study.

We begin our study with the biography of Mohammed

Mohammed’s life was an epic story, his biography is called the, Sira. He was the perfect Muslim. He is still the role model for all Muslim’s. The religion of Islam is not about worshiping Allah; it is about worshiping Allah exactly as Mohammed did. It is every Muslim’s hearts desire to emulate Mohammed in word and deed. If you want to understand Islam you first have to understand Mohammed’s life.

The Traditions of Mohammed,
The Hadith

Once we understand the life story, we need to study the character and behavior of Mohammed as recorded in the Hadith. As the perfect Muslim, Mohammed gave commands for his followers on everyday matters as simple as food and hygiene to complex, moral, legal, societal and cultural issues. The Hadith, is far more important than the Koran, for the followers of Islam. The Hadith tells them how to live like Mohammed the goal of Muslims.

The Koran,
Not an easy read

Our study will conclude with the Koran which is the best know of the Islamic text and the least understood. Verses in the Koran are arranged by verse length-not subject. Each verse is unrelated to the next. The typical bookstore Koran does not tell a story. In this course you will use the, “Two Hour Koran”, designed to be read in less time than it takes to watch a football game. Using statistical analyst the verses have been arranged in chronological order by subject. Once you read this text then the Bookstore Koran will make sense should you choose to read it.

About Dr. Bill Warner

Bill Warner has a PhD in physics and math and is the author of over 18 books on Islam. He has been a university professor, a business-man, and applied physicist.

Dr. Warner has had a life-long interest in religion and its effects on history and has studied the source texts of the major religions for decades. Even before the destruction of the World Trade Center, he predicted the war between Islam and America. The day after, 9/11 he decided to make the source texts of Islam available to the average person.

Dr. Warner who founded the Center for the Study of Political Islam, is an international speaker and teacher. He works with elected officials and has given lectures to the Danish Parliament and given testimony to the Dutch Parliament in behalf of Geert Wilders.
